This was requested of me a while ago, now you too can make cool videos or creations in a completely blank world.  The only block you will find if you download the world is the block you can see in the image above and that block is there so that you can actually build in the world.

So yeah, I will make this a sticky post in my downloads so you can come and grab a blank template when you need a new one.  Since there is only one block in the entire world the file size tiny, which is a bonus.
